NEET 2019: Everything You Need To Know

National Eligibility cum Entrance Test UG – 2019

The National Testing Agency(NTA), originally established by the Ministry of Human Resource development (MHRD), Government of India, will be conducting NEET (UG) 2019. The National Eligibility cum Entrance Test or NEET is an all-India level entrance examination for admission in MBBS/BDS Courses in Indian Medical/Dental Colleges approved by the Medical Council of India/Dental Council of India. Students clearing NEET 2019 will be able to apply for all affiliated medical colleges in India except for AIIMS and JIPMER Puducherry, which conduct autonomous examinations.

NEET 2019 Application Form

The application form for NEET 2019 has already been released on November 1, 2018. The deadline for filling application form was 7th December 2019.

Eligibility Criteria for NEET 2019

NEET aspirants must fulfill the following criteria in order to appear for the exam. Application of candidates will not be considered unless they fulfill these.

  • Candidates must be a minimum of 17 years old as on 31st December 2019.

  • Candidates must have passed 12th or any equivalent examination from a recognized board of education with a minimum overall marks of 50% marks (for general), 45% marks (for general PH) and 40% marks for SC/ST & OBC candidates in the PCB stream.

  • Indian nationals, OCI, PIO, NRI and foreign candidates will be eligible to apply.

NEET 2019 Admit Card Details

Eligible candidates having applied for NEET 2019 will be able to avail their admit card online.

  • Release date: April 15, 2019.

  • The admit card will be available online.

  • A format for affixing of postcard size photograph will be released along with the admit card.

  • Candidates will be able to put in 3 choices of exam centers and the allotted exam center will be mentioned in the admit card.

  • Once downloaded, a PDF copy of the admit card will be sent to the candidate’s registered email-ID.

  • It is mandatory to produce the admit card and other relevant documents(valid photo ID) on the date of the exam at the allotted examination center.

  • Type of Questions: MCQ (Four Options With The Single Correct Answer)

  • Language of Questions: According to the preference of a candidate NEET 2019 question paper will be provided in Hindi, English, Gujarati, Marathi, Oriya, Bengali, Assamese, Telugu, Tamil, Urdu and Kannada languages.

  • Marking: +4 or each correct and -1 for each incorrect. (No answer: 0 marks)

  • Exam Syllabus: Physics, Chemistry and Biology syllabus of class 11th & 12th CBSE (refer to syllabus of all boards – SUGGESTED)

  • Government College Seats: 30,455 (approx.)

NEET 2019 Results

  • NEET 2019 Results will be declared online on 5th June 2019.

  • Candidates will not be able to process any kind of re-evaluation or re-checking.

  • The qualifying percentage for candidates will be 50% for General, 40% for SC/ST/OBC and 45% for General PH.

  • The following details will be available on the NEET scorecard:

    1. Candidate’s Name
    2. Date of Birth and Category
    3. Scores secured in Physics, Chemistry and Biology
    4. Total Marks Secured
    5. Total Percentile
    6. All India Rank
    7. Category Rank
    8. All India Quota Rank (15% Seats)
    9. Cut off score for NEET Counselling
    10. Qualification Status of candidates


  • The merit list will be prepared for 15% All India Quota as per guidance from DGHS, MCI and DCI. Candidates will be invited for counselling as per their achieved rank.
