NEET score validity extended to three years
Studying MBBS is a dream to many students across the country. While they start preparing right from class 12, the competition is immense and lakhs of students fight for a few thousand seats in Government institutions across India. Owing to this cut throat competition, as many as 7000 students per year opt for pursuing MBBS abroad. And yes, that is a very viable option, both in terms of quality and finances.
The Medical Council of India has made an announcement recently which might come as a great rejoice to students aspiring to pursue MBBS abroad. While the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) is now mandatory for all such students, the NEET score will now be valid for three years from the date of declaration of result. This new policy comes under the “Eligibility Requirement for Taking Admission in an Undergraduate Medical Course in a Foreign Medical Institution (Amendment) Regulation, 2019”
The MCI Board of Governors released a statement, “Result of NEET shall be valid for a period of three years from the date of declaration of result, entitling a candidate to pursue MBBS or equivalent medical course including pre-medical/language course, if any, followed by MBBS or equivalent medical course.”
Students often fail to get into their desired institution due to various reasons. Re-appearing for the NEET all over again with a fresh preparation is no doubt tedious. This new announcement has surely eased up students. We believe, amist such intense competition, the extension of NEET score validity is nothing but very fair.
The NEET exam for 2019 is scheduled on the 5th of May. The entire team of Eduream wishes everyone all the very best. Take this opportunity in your stride and give your best shot! Cheers!
